Timeless Trend: Birds

I’m back with another Timeless Trend…classic themes updated in trendy ways, and trendy items that are sure to become classics. I’ve been incorporating bird themes into my decor for years. I gravitate toward the vintage look, but they can be ultra-modern, too. It’s the best of both worlds and there’s an abundance of decor to choose from! Birds are all over my room, as you know from the sneak peek of the wrapping paper vignette above my bed. (Who am I kidding, my love of bird items has been documented many times on this blog.) I snagged this knob from an Anthropologie sale and I’m still deciding on the perfect use for it. I also have this bulletin board from local boutique Vivid, my absolute favorite place for romantic vintage items. Just down the street from it, Heliotrope will satisfy your more modern cravings. Love…

I think the reason I keep coming back to a bird motif is the timeless vintage quality, (think back  to toile prints and nature studies), but they can easily be updated for clean and simple modern design. Sometimes ultra-modern decor can lean towards being too cold, and fun nature themes help add a touch of warmth and whimsy. My favorite design blends modern and vintage…a rustic urban vibe. Birds help me achieve that look, and I’ll be incorporating them into my decor scheme for a long time to come!
