It’s fall, and we all know what that means… Pumpkin Season! Jack-o-lantern carving, decorative arrangements and edible treats await. I’ve hand-selected a few of my favorite pumpkin ideas to share with you on the eve of this holiday weekend.
From Martha Stewart Living
First, for the crafters among us, Martha Stewart teaches us how to carve lace patterns into pumpkins with wood-carving tools. I love this dainty and delicate take on jack-o-lanterns, and I also love the idea of using (or painting) gourds with pale, soothing colors.
From Better Homes and Gardens
This is a great idea from Better Homes and Gardens for a quick autumn table display. How fun would it be to grab a wide variety of candlesticks at a thrift store and match them with a variety of mini-pumpkins from a produce stand? In a flash you’d have an easy, eclectic arrangement that celebrates the colors of autumn.
I’m dying to try these Pumpkin Cupcakes with Maple Frosting from Ina Garten, for House Beautiful. You cannot go wrong with the Barefoot Contessa! Although, we all know what happened last time I tried to bake…Nonetheless, I’m giving these a go.

Oh I LOVE decorating with pumpkins! I have one that’s really different looking from the farmer’s market right now- makes a cute centerpiece.

Martha Stewart makes everything look beautiful and always “it’s a good thing.” Gosh, I wouldn’t make it through carving 1/10 of a lace pumpkin before dying of frustration, I’m afraid. But it is absolutely gorgeous nonetheless! Thanks for sharing these beautiful fall decorations, Miss Decorativity!
Gotta love Martha! Haha I confess I think similarly about the carving…I admire those who could do it but don’t see myself doing it! But they’re pretty to look at and maybe some crafters out there will take it on :)
