One of my biggest artistic loves is music. Going to live shows, discovering new artists, creating customized mixes for my friends–it’s definitely a hobby, but I’m passionate about it as I am design. Naturally, I’m intrigued when the two worlds intersect. One of my longtime favorite bands is The Weepies. I’ve loved their warm sound for years and their songs are on high rotation in my playlists. They’re also great at making creative, highly-stylized music videos. I thought I’d share a couple of my favorites today.
“World Spins Madly On” was the first Weepies song I heard and I was instantly hooked. This video is outside the box but oh so sweet–the little blue monster’s face just breaks my heart.
“Hideaway” is a bit more upbeat and whimsical, still using creative animation techniques that are a signature of a Weepies video.
